Council held a Special Meeting today on whether to keep the beach closed. This is a very emotional issue that resulted in the largest public engagement in Cobourg. The overwhelming response from resident was to keep the beach closed for public health and safety reasons.
The vote was unanimous, 7-0, to keep the beach closed until August 31, 2020. Staff has been asked to report back on June 22 to advise Council how they can reopen the beach.
