Council has agreed that there should be no fee for submitting a complaint to the Town Ombudsman and Integrity Commissioner and will be amending the bylaw.

We often hear that today’s citizens are not “engaged.” That they are more interested in family, jobs and sport than in politics. That few bother to vote. That younger citizens, the millennials, are the worst. What is really the problem? Looking at recent events in Cobourg makes the problem obvious – it is our politicians.

Although it’s a year away, the Cobourg Taxpayers Association announced today that it will hold an all candidates evening for the 2018 Cobourg council municipal election.
The 2018 Municipal election will be held on Monday October 22, 2018.
There are seven municipalities in Northumberland and in five the mayors welcome question and answer periods for the public and media. But not in Cobourg.
