Innisfil is a municipality near Barrie where their Council determined that a bus system would be too expensive. They have contracted with Uber to provide an alternative public transit system. It is this type of creative thinking that we admire.
One major difference from Cobourg is that Innisfil does not currently have a transit system.
We wanted to thank Cobourg Police Chief Kai Liu for his efforts in focusing on supporting victims.
In an article, John Draper states, “Cobourg Police are the first in Ontario to partner with Cornerstone to help make sure that victims get the support they need.
We were very pleased to see the comprehensive report Barry Thrasher, the Director of Public Works for Cobourg, prepared for Council. We felt he deserved to be recognized and hope that the other directors will use this as a model in their reports to Council.

Dr. Mark Essak and other members of the Northumberland Family Health Team are alleged to have committed several questionable acts regarding the finances of their practices. Note that Dr. Essak is one of only two Cobourg residents who is on the Board of Northumberland Medical Arts Incorporated (NMAI) which is the not-for-profit corporation that has requested a waiver of fees related to the construction of their proposed clinic.
