At a special Council meeting held on November 26, 2018, Cobourg’s Ombudsman provided a report which upheld the CTA’s complaint that its members were barred from a public meeting they should have been allowed to attend and not provided with agenda material they requested.

On April 30, 2018, Council voted five to two in favour of a rezoning that allows for a school in New Amherst. Councillors Forrest Rowden and Suzanne Seguin were the only Councillors who truly represented the public by voting against the rezoning.
