Council voted unanimously to keep the beach closed until August 31, 2020. Council heard from citizens overwhelmingly to keep the beach closed. The logistics and cost of opening the beach without endangering the safety of beach goers and town employees were too great.

This petition asks that Council keep the Cobourg Beach closed to reduce the spread of COVID 19. We have all made sacrifices and now is not the time to throw it all away. The petition is in the format of a Cobourg Council resolution to leave no doubt about what Council must do.
