There is no easy answer for something that causes so much hardship for so many.
Municipal candidates are put on the spot when they are asked what they are going to do to fix the problem of affordable housing, homelessness, and other social issues.
When someone says this, they are mostly either misleading you or do not understand themselves whose money it is.
It WILL cost you when they make these decisions. Let’s review where the money that won’t cost taxpayers anything comes from.
Councillors approved using a consultant to do the User Fee study with a vote of 4 to 2 in favour.
Town staff is responsible for evaluating and bringing forward recommendations and they did what they were supposed to do.
With voting to take place between October 14 – 24, 2022, candidates will be making campaign promises to get your vote.
We have six incumbents who want to be re-elected. You will now be the judge of how well they did and whether they deserve to be re-elected.
We still want to ask the Candidates questions about where they stand on key issues. We can’t ask them about every issue but we can create a few key questions about the important issues.
We do want to know what Cobourg citizens think the top issues are.
