Petition to Keep the Beach Closed Has Ended

PETITION NOW ENDED

This petition asks that Council keep the Cobourg Beach closed to reduce the spread of COVID 19. We have all made sacrifices and now is not the time to throw it all away. The petition is in the format of a Cobourg Council resolution to leave no doubt about what Council must do.

Lakefront Utilities (LUI) Wants to Reduce Interest Rate on Town Promissory Note

Barry Gutteridge, Director of LUI, has requested that the Town agree to an amendment of the 2006 promissory note of $7M with the Town of Cobourg. Most people do not understand this and would rather not read or think about it.

Council held a public meeting on June 3, 2019 to solicit feedback on the planning process.

Although most peope are not interested in the process, when a zoning change comes up for consideration, it can become a real issue for citizens.

Fair Pay for Cobourg Councillors

Updated 5/22/2019

Council voted at the Regular Council meeting on 5/21/2019 not to increase their salaries passed at the previous week’s Committee of the Whole. Councillors Beatty, Burchat and Mayor Henderson reversed their yes vote and voted no. The motion was defeated 4-3.
