The Q1 financial report was added to the Committee of the Whole (COW) agenda for Monday May 29, 2017. Bryan Lambert discovered the report was incorrect and emailed the Deputy Mayor.

The CTA wrote to Deputy Mayor Henderson and Council several months ago to ask how our town was doing financially with respect to the budget. We wanted to know if we were on track or whether we were over budget. We were disappointed because we were not given the actual spend numbers.
We thought you might like to know about a couple of town meetings next week. Council is looking for citizen feedback. Both meetings are on Wednesday October 12.
The Town budget meeting is at 2:30 pm at Victoria Hall (a couple of CTA directors will be making submissions).
Since, we are now halfway through the year, it is important that the citizens of Cobourg know the current status of the town’s budget; i.e. are we on track, over or under budget for each department? If we are over, what steps are being taken to make adjustments for the remainder of the year?
The CTA would like to thank Ian Davey, Cobourg Treasurer and Sally Leblanc, Supervisor of Public Buildings for their initiative and extra hard work to save taxpayers $10,000 in replacing the Victoria Hall chiller tower platform. Initially there was only one bid of about $40,000 but Ian was not willing to accept the excessive amount quoted.
