Council voted at the Regular Council meeting on 5/21/2019 not to increase their salaries passed at the previous week’s Committee of the Whole. Councillors Beatty, Burchat and Mayor Henderson reversed their yes vote and voted no. The motion was defeated 4-3.
Gerry Walker has been communicating with the Town for two years trying to get an answer to his question of why the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee request to act as a Steering Committee was never required to act as an Advisory Committee.
Innisfil, Ontario, decided to partially subsidize ride-hailing trips rather than pay for a public bus system.
It worked so well that now they have to raise fares and cap rides.

Citizens provided their input to the Town’s draft strategic plan through almost forty emails and seven verbal submissions. John Draper summarizes this feedback very well on the “Cobourg News Blog” and you can read it all here:

Although the Cobourg Taxpayers Association (CTA) did not provide any feedback, several CTA directors did submit feedback as private citizens.
The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.
