At a special Council meeting held on November 26, 2018, Cobourg’s Ombudsman provided a report which upheld the CTA’s complaint that its members were barred from a public meeting they should have been allowed to attend and not provided with agenda material they requested.
On July 16, 2018, the Cobourg Taxpayers Association (CTA) filed a complaint with the Ombudsman for the Town of Cobourg. The complaint was filed because the Town had denied numerous requests to provide agendas and minutes for the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee Steering Committee and evicted four CTA Directors who attempted to observe the May 4, 2018 meeting.
