Northumberland Council has quietly increased waste bag tags prices by 50 cents to $4.25. Very little details have been communicated including when it takes effect. The item was not even on the Special Council agenda where the price increase was approved.

Most Northumberland residents are only likely to find out about this price increase when they go out to purchase tags. County Council should have been more transparent and directed staff to communicate this price increase to residents and when is it effective.
Cobourg Now reported that the increase will take effect in March:
