Since, we are now halfway through the year, it is important that the citizens of Cobourg know the current status of the town’s budget; i.e. are we on track, over or under budget for each department? If we are over, what steps are being taken to make adjustments for the remainder of the year? A letter was sent to the Deputy Mayor, John Henderson, copying Council, asking for information on:
- What new, non-budgeted, items have been identified and what spending can be reduced in other areas to offset this new spending?
- What are the actual savings to date for identified reductions?
- What is the spending forecast for the remainder of the year?
